Medical Assisting Course

Overview

The Medical Assisting program helps students develop a complete understanding of the medical profession, and the clinical and administrative skills necessary to work in the healthcare field. Topics in the curriculum include infection control, assisting in physical examinations, urinalysis, ECG/EKG testing, venipuncture, physiotherapy, patient reception, appointments scheduling, office safety, telephone and written communication, medical insurance, and office management. 

Students will be required to have a strong knowledge of biology and chemistry as prerequisites for the course.  

Industry Certifications

NOCTI and AMCA or NHA (each year we will pick one of these 2 national certifications in addition to NOCTI)
