Spring Fling Dance

The Robotics shop and the Science Honor Society are throwing our annual Spring Fling on May 6th. Tickets cost $5.00 and there will be prizes, contests and giveaways. All money made at this event will go towards the upcoming Robotics competitons.

NYC Born and Raised Scholarship

To be eligible for this $2,500 scholarship, students must be seniors at one of New York City’s high schools and must plan to attend college within New York City beginning in the fall semester of 2016. The scholarship payment will be made directly to the award recipient’s school and is to be used exclusively for tuition and other educational expenses.

Thomas A. Edison Automotive Technology Students gearing up for the National Automotive Technology Competition

CTE students Nicholas Bhurasingh and Julio Pineda, together with their coach Miguel Sierra beat out 11 other schools to win the NY regional round of the Automotive Technology Competition and are ready to vie for a new title and an opportunity at competing for more than $3 million in scholarships and prizes at the National Competition. Chancellor Fariña met the contestants to congratulate and wish them a successful performance in the finals.

Computer Classes for Parents

Attention All Edison Parents! Want to increase your Computer Literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel? Then join us, your Parent Teacher Association in our Sponsored Computer Workshop facilitated by Ms. Sharma (Beginners) and Mr. Kalloo (Advanced). All participants will be given their own flash (additional materials will be distributed). Light refreshments will be served.

Students from across the city put their skills to the test in a battle to represent their school at a city level.

Students Compete In Automotive Technology Competition

Thomas Edison CTE High School students competed in the NY Automotive Technology Competition as if they were technicians working at a dealership, fixing issues ranging from cars not starting to making sure the windshield wipers work properly. Each team had to complete their work for an auto inspection within three hours. Nicholas Bhurasingh and Julio Pineda from Thomas Edison won the competition.

Principal Ojeda NY1 Spotlight

Back in 1993, Moses Ojeda was a quiet student who graduated from Thomas Edison High School and now he runs the facility and relates to the students the way few others can.
